You can set various options for activating the speak option at various stages of sentence formation. For some children, you may not want the audio to be spoken every time that a button is selected, but you want the app to speak out only the final composed message aloud. This is especially useful, in a classroom or inclusive set up, where audio of every word selected can be disturbing to the rest of the class. This is also useful if the child doesn't require the audio support for selection of the words, but needs the audio only to communicate his sentence to the communication partner.

To enable this setting:

  1. Tap the Settings icon on the top right corner (next to Help icon) of the Avaz screen.
  2. Scroll down to the Audio Settings section
  3. Tap the What to speak button (refer to Screenshot #1 below)
  4. Tap the Speak only message box’ option. This disables audio for all selections /taps and enables audio only when the Message box is tapped.
