UDID is the short form for Unique Device Identifier. It is a 40-character long value containing alpha-numeric symbols (a-z and 0-9) that is a unique identifier of your device.
Why do I need to get the UDID?
- If you are a beta tester of the app, the app developer requests for your UDID. This will enable you to load the app on your device without going through iTunes (since the app is not yet released).
- The UDID is required Sometimes the UDID is requested by the developer for troubleshooting purposes.
