Avaz supports the following grid sizes or pictures per screen:

  • Very small (77 pictures)

  • Small (60 pictures)

  • Small (40 pictures)

  • Small (24 pictures)

  • Normal (15 pictures)

  • Large (8 pictures)

  • Large (4 pictures)

  • Large (3 pictures)

  • Extra-large (2 pictures)

  • Huge (1 picture)


How to set the Pictures per screen or Grid size?


  1. Tap Menu on the top right corner of the home page. 
  2. Tap Settings. 
  3. Scroll down to find and tap Pictures per screen (Grid size) 
  4. Select the required grid size and the page gets set to the selected grid size. 





To change the number of pictures per screen:


  1. Go to Menu > Settings > Pictures per screen (Grid size) under Picture Settings.
     
  2. There you can set various options for grid size. 


Vocabulary optimization for grid sizes

Please note that specific vocabularies are optimized for specific grid sizes.


Avaz offers 3 optimized vocabulary levels for communication:

  1. Level 1 (optimized for 15 pics per screen)
  2. Level 2 (optimized for 24 pics per screen) and 
  3. Level 3 (optimized for 40 pics per screen). 


It is recommended to keep this setting in sync with the vocabulary level for which it is optimized, since this ensures consistent motor patterns for the child as he progresses from one level to the next.


Note:

  1. By changing the Home Screen Vocab level, the number of pictures per screen are also automatically changed, and vice-versa.
  2. The above vocabulary levels are not applicable for Avaz India (Android), Avaz Australia and Avaz Dansk. Their vocabulary levels are Getting Started, Basic and Advanced. 


For Avaz ver lower than 6.6


The number of grid sizes available are:

  1. Small - 40 pictures per screen
  2. Small - 24 pictures per screen
  3. Nornal - 15 pictures per screen
  4. Large - 8 pictures per screen
  5. Large - 4 pictures per screen
  6. Large - 3 pictures per screen
  7. Extra Large - 2 pictures per screen
  8. Huge - 1 picture per screen


How to set up Grid size / Pictures per screen?

You can set up the grid size, from Avaz Settings  > Pictures per screen.

  1. Tap the Settings icon on the top menu bar. 

  2. Scroll down and tap Pictures per screen.
