For Avaz version 8.0

You can personalize Avaz by recording a voice that the AAC user is comfortable with You can make these changes either while adding a new message or changing an existing message in the Edit mode. 

To change the voice / add custom audio:

1. Tap Menu > Edit Words. This takes you to the edit mode. 
2. Select the item for which you want to record your voice, by tapping it or Add a new word. Ex: Hola.
   
   
3. You will see the Audio section, Speak As, at the middle of the window (under the Basic tab). The same is also available under the Advanced tab > Sound.
4. To record your voice: 
   1. Tap the Record button (microphone button-near the Speaker icon), to start recording your voice to speak the word. 
      
      
      
   2. Speak the word that you want to record (make sure you do this in a quiet room - preferably at night and without a fan or AC running).  
   3. Tap the Stop button (square button) to stop the recording. 
   4. Tap the Play button (speaker button) to listen to the recorded voice. 
   5. If you are not satisfied with the recording, delete it with the delete button (trash can icon) and re-record your voice. 
   6. Once recorded, tap the Save button on the top right corner of the window to save the changes. 
      
      
      
   7. To add custom audio / upload an audio clip :
      1.  Tap the Upload button (arrow button-near the delete icon), to upload your audio clip.
         
         
         
      2. Upload audio files that are either in .mp3 or .wav formats as Avaz currently supports only these two formats. Tap on Ok. 
         
         
         
      3. Select your audio file from your device. 
         
         
         
      4. Once uploaded, tap the Save button on the top right corner of the window to save the changes.
         
         
         
      5. If you tap on the Play button, you can listen to your recorded voice or the custom audio added. 
         
         
         
         

For Avaz versions less than 8.0

1. For Avaz ver 6.6 tap Menu > Edit words. 
2. For Avaz ver less than 6.6 - Tap the Edit button to enter the edit mode.
3. Follow the above steps for the remaining instructions. The screens and user-interface are different for the earlier versions.
